  24.   Features of the editor core: Unlimited  configurable  undo/redo,  configurable
  25.   syntax  highlighting  (e.g.  C++,  Pascal,  Assembler,  HTML or E-Mail), macro
  26.   recording,  nested  folding,  modes  (filetypes  management:   filetypes   are
  27.   recognized  and  control the environment). Drag & Drop is supported: move text
  28.   using your mouse.

  30.   Features of the user interface: configurable toolbar(s) below the window title
  31.   bar, asynchronous requesters. Notebooks simplify configuration. Windows can be
  32.   hidden (frozen) temporarily. Ability  to  open  windows  on  multiple  screens
  33.   simulatenously  (or  to  open  multiple  screens simultaneously). Window-local
  34.   configuration: every window can use a different menu,  different  fonts,  etc.
  35.   Configurable  look  and  feel:  fonts,  colors,  size  of window borders, line
  36.   spacing in editor window, user-defined gadgets in window's title bar, etc. can
  37.   be  adjusted.  Programmable  keyboard, programmable menus, programmable mouse,
  38.   programmable gadgets, programmable toolbar. Other features:  built-in  printer
  39.   spooler, built-in source level debugger support (breakpoints display).

  41.   Optional input aids:  IntelliSense  (words  are  completed  depending  on  the
  42.   context),  phrase  completion (words are completed depending on a dictionary),
  43.   AutoCase (spelling is corrected depending on a dictionary), context  sensitive
  44.   indention  (indention  depending  on  keywords) and templates (input stream is
  45.   monitored and can  trigger  special  actions).  Layout-related  features:  all
  46.   standard formatting functions are supported, including WordWrap.

  48.   Programmer  support:  Online   help.   Project   management.   Built-in   fast
  49.   configurable  references  system  for AutoDocs, includes, sourcecodes, guides,
  50.   etc. Automatic online bracket highlighting: matching  bracket  is  highlighted
  51.   while  typing.  Automatic  online  checks  verify  that  brackets  are  nested
  52.   correctly. Configurable scanners (programmable quick function search) list all
  53.   functions,  defines,  labels  etc. defined in your source codes. Built-in grep
  54.   support allows you to search across multiple files (and to "touch"  files)  or
  55.   to  search  files  on  your disk(s). Session support saves the environment and
  56.   allows you to continue your work later.

  58.   Additional tools: The  HiSpeed  PCL  printing  utility  supports  printing  of
  59.   multi-column  documents.  Features  include  a  preview  function,  book  mode
  60.   printing, label printing and ARexx capabilities.

  62. UPGRADE NOTES

  64.   The GoldED 4 trial version should not be installed over GoldED 3  (registered)
  65.   until you have obtained a new keyfile. The GoldED 3 keyfile has been hacked by
  66.   several people - thanks - and is no longer supported. The GoldED 4 keyfile  is
  67.   made available to registered GoldED users free of charge if you have purchased
  68.   GoldED after 1/1/1996. Instructions on how to order your free keyfile as  well
  69.   as  information  on  how  to upgrade packages recieved before this date can be
  70.   found in the GoldED manual.
